As a Committee of the Trust Board it has delegated responsibilities and works closely with the Headteacher and Leadership Team in monitoring and promoting excellent opportunities, outcomes and life chances for all.

The Role of a Local Governing Body

The three core functions of committee are:

  • Ensuring clarity of the College’s vision, ethos and strategic direction; and supporting the College to embed the Trust’s vision.
  • Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the College and its pupils.
  • Monitoring the financial performance of the College together with the Trust Board and Headteacher and making sure its money is well spent.
