“The school prepares pupils well for their future choices. They have the information they need about career and course choices. Pupils shape their understanding through events such as careers fairs, work experience, visiting speakers and trips to post-16 providers.” – Ofsted, November 2024

The college is committed to Careers Education, Information, Advice and guidance (CEIAG) and works closely with Careers South West Ltd, FE Colleges, Universities and Employers to encourage and support students into post-16 learning and training. Our Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance Policy is available here.

We deliver an excellent careers provision here at Dawlish College which includes a wide range of impartial information and advice about post-16 routes.

Trips to a range of post-16 establishments, alongside our weekly careers assembly programme where Colleges, Universities and industry are invited in to speak to our KS4 students provides a range of guidance and broadens their horizons. We continue to maintain strong links with The Met Office, NHS and many other businesses within the Dawlish and Exeter region.

In addition to a full careers programme for our Key Stage 4 students we are always keen to open minds to various career paths for our Key Stage 3 students as well. We have a programme of visitors and students at Key Stage 3 also experience a number of STEM related events, on a half termly basis, (Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

If you have any questions about career choices and options at Dawlish Community College please contact our Careers leader, Mrs Amanda Moore careers@dawlish.devon.sch.uk
